Frodin uses Angel Hair in almost all its fly creations today. In the smallest flies merely one or two strands of Angel Hair as the only flash element. In the bigger flies they mix Angel Hair and natural hair to create an optimal and appetizing mix. Angel Hair was a god sent gift for Frodin fly designs. Frodin has often made its own mixtures, color combinations to harmonize well with our patterns. -

UTC Ultra Thread has been engineered as a fly tying thread from the beginning. It is not an "off the shelf" thread as are many others. All of Ultra Thread's characteristics were carefully chosen to enhance its tying performance. Made nylon over polyester because nylon will stretch and grip materials better. This allows for more uniform tension and gives the tyer the "feel" for maximum tension. Nylon is the same strength as polyester (given the same denier) and offers the added benefit of more intense colors and a larger range of colors. Because nylon stretches, it grips material tighter and makes the fly more durable. Ultra Thread has been lightly waxed. This also limits thread build up and gives the thread a smoother, slicker feel. The added benefit is that head cement fully penetrates the thread which equals more durable flies. it is a multifilament thread that is not bonded. Bonded threads are oval in shape and are stiff or coarse feeling. Bonded threads also build up fast which is a significant concern when tying small flies. The spools are sized and designed to turn smoothly on standard bobbins. Each spool has a color coded end cap for product identification and to secure the tag end of the thread. In our opinion the best thread made deserves to be spooled on the best spool. -

The SSS braids comes in a quality which makes it perfect for all forms of bodies and ribbings. It is not too thick to overlap or to be twisted. In my own fly tying I only use this one quality. If you need a ribbing then use the same material but twine it into a round or oval form. The harder you twist the smaller flies it fits. -

Spey Marabou is a big fly tyer's best friend, Coming in all the same colors this size of feather is great for wrapping collars, tying big intruder type patterns, and articulated streamers. This synthetic-fibered material is the best choice to tie any kind of baitfish pattern. The texture of Baitfish Blend enables the tyer to use only one material. This is my favorite dubbing from Nature's Spirit. Loads of shine but lovely natural colours. You could also put a pinch in to natural hair dubbings like squirrel or rabbit so and a inner sparkle.
