It is a multi stranded Mylar-tinsel - a flat, synthetic material that is approx 2 mm in width As the material is translucent, the more layers you add to your pattern the deeper the colour, also try tying in two contrasting colours for a suberb effect. -

A thin 0.006" elastic transparent sheet material that is used for wing cases on nymphs and as a shell back. A must for Czech nymphs. Very simple to use and is easy to stretch. -
The SSS braids comes in a quality which makes it perfect for all forms of bodies and ribbings. It is not too thick to overlap or to be twisted. In my own fly tying I only use this one quality. If you need a ribbing then use the same material but twine it into a round or oval form. The harder you twist the smaller flies it fits. -
