Superb product from Nature's Spirit. We have never seen this before but there is good demand for it from Pike fly tiers. Very long, nicely shaped feathers which will palmer even your largest flies and have enough length to collar the front off as well. These barred drabs are perfect for twin tails ad wings as they are stout at the base and taper to fine tips. They are palmerable and can be wrapped as a hackle to create a wide profile with a very slim base. Additionally, the length of these Ostrich feathers is perfect for intruders and other steelhead flies, meaning there is less waste than with over-sized ostrich plumes. -
Resently lauched Tubeworx offer a complete tube tying system at fits together without having to stretch tubing or modify any of the componants. Glitter Tubes have the glitter impregnated in to the plastic. Each tube is 200mm long and you get 10 tubes per packet. The Outer tube fits perfectly over the inner tube. The tubes have been made of a special plastic that will not crack or break when fished with and is suitable to use down to sub zero temperatures. This is super, soft, pre-tapered synthetic fur that will give any pattern incredible action in the water. Life like material for bait fish imitations, streamers and various attractor patterns. It is great when tying with epoxies and can be easily marked with indelible marking pens for a more realistic, fish fooling presentation. UTC Ultra Thread has been engineered as a fly tying thread from the beginning. It is not an "off the shelf" thread as are many others. All of Ultra Thread's characteristics were carefully chosen to enhance its tying performance. Made nylon over polyester because nylon will stretch and grip materials better. This allows for more uniform tension and gives the tyer the "feel" for maximum tension. Nylon is the same strength as polyester (given the same denier) and offers the added benefit of more intense colors and a larger range of colors. Because nylon stretches, it grips material tighter and makes the fly more durable. Ultra Thread has been lightly waxed. This also limits thread build up and gives the thread a smoother, slicker feel. The added benefit is that head cement fully penetrates the thread which equals more durable flies. it is a multifilament thread that is not bonded. Bonded threads are oval in shape and are stiff or coarse feeling. Bonded threads also build up fast which is a significant concern when tying small flies. The spools are sized and designed to turn smoothly on standard bobbins. Each spool has a color coded end cap for product identification and to secure the tag end of the thread. In our opinion the best thread made deserves to be spooled on the best spool. -
