These straight and long fibered spade hackles have been hand selected to possess just the right stiffness for straight or divided tails on no hackle dun, spinner and standard dry fly patterns The tailing material is also preen oil processed after drying to bring the feather back to its natural state. In order to dye feathers, fur, and hair, complete removal of all oil is paramount to achieve maximum penetration and permanence of colour. The majority of dyed natural materials are devoid of their original natural oils and in most instances carry chemical odours that could possibly alarm fish who have highly sensitive scent glands. All of Nature's Spirits products are proudly processed with pure, natural preen oil. Natural preen oil processed materials possess resilience, sheen and a benign scent that can be translated into flies that are visually and functionally in a class of their own.

One of the best CDC's on the market, highest quality feathers, hand selected, dyed cold, and carefully packed by our incredible girls. Dyed Feathers are from 4 to 6 cm and are mainly used for dubbing (using the clamp tool) or tying big wings like mayflies. All colours are dyed over natural white cdc, we do not bleach them! Natural feathers are smaller and more gentle - can be used for all sort of CDC wings, however it is impossible to arrange them as nicely as the big coloured ones.

Most bags of soft hackle are full of unuseble rubbish with a few feathers that are suitable for hackling. Nature's Spirit Select Grizzly hackles are different. EVERY hackle is usable so although the packets look smaller they are better valu then other brands on the market and you get superb colours as well. 20 Colours of Grizzle Hackle. Use the grizzle collaring hackle for Salmon flies, Saltwater flies, Lures etc. These are superb. These large spey feathers are made from 3" to 5" goose coquille feathers which are specially processed to create a particularly spiky, long fibered feather. This "burning" process is tricky business, but we get good results and many of our dealers sell a ton of this product with a high level of customer satisfaction. Spey Marabou is a big fly tyer's best friend, Coming in all the same colors this size of feather is great for wrapping collars, tying big intruder type patterns, and articulated streamers. Coming in at 5-7 inches long. Think collars for Predator flies as well. You can also strip the herl off to use in the regular way for tails and wings. Perfect for Stillwater flies. -
